About all you can do is bitch to your local gov't. There are newer sensors on the market that can detect smaller masses like bikes but very few places use them because of the extra cost. I've been forced to run red lights many times, once with a cop car behind me. He saw the problem and waved me through. Good luck fighting city hall.
